Immune Preparedness & Well-Being
Today, I'm pleased to introduce a returning guest who's been charting his own course in natural health for over four decades.
Jack Tips is a board-certified Naturopathic Physician, a Ph.D. in Nutrition Science, and the author of sixteen books, including the foundational work "The Pro-Vita! Plan For Optimal Nutrition." He lectures at naturopathic and chiropractic colleges worldwide, serves on the advisory board of the International and American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists, and maintains a clinical practice built on three pillars: classical homeopathy, systemic herbology, and clinical nutrition.
What really defines Jack’s work is something deeper. He speaks of natural health practitioners as those who "march to a different drummer” - often applying scientific insights, decades before they're embraced by mainstream medicine. His approach weaves together diet, herbs, exercise, rest, and the skilled touch of natural health practice into what he calls "the mosaic of natural health training."
And through it all, there's a golden thread that guides everything: "What helps the body function in optimal health?" It's a question of both head and heart, where science meets wisdom, and grace shows the way.
*Please note at about 45 minutes Jacks phone connections get's bad (weather issues).
I will have him back on soon to finish with a part 2.

TalkToMeGuy: Today I'm pleased to introduce a returning guest who's been charting his own course in natural health for over four decades. Jack Tips is a board certified naturopathic physician, a PhD in nutrition science and the author of 16 books, including the foundational work to provide a plan for optimal nutrition. He lectures at naturopathic and chiropractic colleges worldwide, serves on the advisory board of the International and American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists, and maintains a clinical practice built on three pillars, classical homeopathy, systemic or apology, and clinical nutrition.
What really defines Jack's work is something deeper. He speaks of natural health practitioners as those who march to a different drummer, often applying scientific insights decades before they're embraced by mainstream medicine. His approach weaves together diet, herbs, exercise, rest, and the skilled touch of natural health practice into what he calls the mosaic of natural health training. And through it all, there's a golden thread that guides everything.
What helps the body function in optimal health is a question of both head and heart, where science meets wisdom and grace shows the way. Welcome, Jack. As soon as I get him back in again. There we go. So close.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Hello, hello Richard.
TalkToMeGuy: Hi there. I love live producing.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: I think it went to the countdown and then just Kerplunk. So anyway, I am thrilled to be back. So good to hear your voice.
TalkToMeGuy: Yours as well. So I'm just going to jump into the deep end of the pool and ask you, I realized in preparing for the show, we've done four or five shows. But I realized in preparing for this show that I have never asked you your origin story of why the commitment to health.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Now it's something I didn't have as a child. So I think that's a that's an old story. It should not sound unusual at all. I was born very, you know, let's say sickly autoimmune, asthmatic, and most of my early childhood was sitting in the back of the Falcon station wagon, you know, hauling me to see a doctor in Hardmore, Oklahoma, or off to New Mexico, or, or something as you know, you know, bless my parents were, were struggling.
To find answers. So I just went through an early life up until I think about age 19. And around that time I'd started hanging out at health food stores.
There was a thing called the miracle mile in Dallas, Texas. It was a health food store area on lovers lane and I'd go up there and I'd talk to those old ladies and they would argue if butter was a good food or if it had too much fat and, you know, I was right in the middle of it and they would let me read the books with my paper out money and, and so forth. But I sought out a Dallas medical doctor who was a classical homeopath. His name was Dr. Robert shore. FCH or E and I'd saved up enough money because if anyone's ever encountered homeopaths, they don't have a lot of back in dollars. So you usually pay a fairly stout fee which is nowhere near worthy of their, their training and commitment.
But, you know, at least it's a contribution to the great work that they do. And right as I was ready to see Dr. shore, the Texas Medical Board took issue with him because he wasn't pushing drugs. And off he went. And I found him in San Diego and then had to throw more paper route to get money to go out there needless to say I got out there to Dr. shore. And a quick taking of my case and a homeopathic remedy and within four months, I would say that it was very clear that I was completely cured and I had a life I had that now at my age, which is 76. I've had, you know, over 50 years of optimal health. So having seen what real medicine can do medicine that respects that the body can cure itself and not just become addicted to taking palliative medications that cause other symptoms to develop. I embarked saying that's what I want to do in my life and I studied vitamins in depth of minerals. Went off to homeopathy school the Hanuman Academy of North America with Dr. Robin Murphy and pursued. I don't think you ever stopped studying so I would say for the last 50 years I've been engaged in studies but having exemplary health. Pain it forward every chance I get the message that yes the body can cure itself.
Drugs can never do it. And that our natural health model is just so beautiful to give the body the tools it needs to respond. And as long as we can focus and correct the cause, which we know in our natural health can be mental emotional physical. We have this beautiful model for the health and healing of humanity. So that's my personal story from sickness into wonderful health and then just a strong desire of why would my life past be anything different than sharing the very best news that might impact. Hopefully any of your listeners Richard and other people the gift of health is to me just the portal for having a meaningful and successful life, whatever we want to do, whether it's relationships or using our brains or using the brawn of our bodies that we can have a dynamic life experience of great health. And we have great joy when we have health and we're not plagued by the pains and afflictions that seem to be so rampant in our society today.
TalkToMeGuy: Well, I'm sorry you've influenced this statement but I've been using the statement for quite some time but we've been talking for quite some time. That I've always said that given the opportunity the body will heal itself. Now when I say that I didn't have homeopathy in mind. I did not it's a derogatory I mean it just it was not why I said that I just think that the body with its innate intelligence given the opportunity will seek homeostasis and we're kind of an amazing system. We may not seem like.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Right, we might. In our holistic model we understand that thoughts and emotions influence physical health we know this I mean scientific fact that a trauma changes epigenetics and maybe even more but I don't hear it talked about in this great controversy going on in our society of whether vaccinations are safe or not safe. I think we we don't acknowledge that when you develop antibodies from a vaccine you are an equivalent of a person that's had the disease. So when they recommend that you start your life with hepatitis B.
Which is IV drug users concern and they give it to every baby. This type of thing okay now we have a human species that we might say collectively has started life with. The recovery of hepatitis B they've they've made antibodies and if you just think you know oh this poor person I see they've had every disease under the sun. Now they're weak they're struggling and that's basically maybe an analogy of what we're doing to people is yes they get to walk through life that baby walks through life with a successful inoculation of have be and.
Now I have some degree of immunity. To that but they're also carrying the epigenetic the the total body response that yeah they've been knocked down they've struggled with the disease and now they're back up on their feet and claim immunity. But it's not the same epigenetics and that's just a fancy way of saying it's how our bodies interpret our genetic code and run our cellular metabolic processes in other words it's the core of life that.
Our bodies operate and now we have people operating like oh yeah I had a bad case of measles I had a bad case of chickenpox I had a bad case of mumps and I had a bad case of hepatitis C. And on and on and on and on but all this is changing epigenetics and that's not talked about I think why people are concerned. But I don't want to get off on that subject Richard if that's not your intent I'm just saying that well with homeopathy or biology good nutrition that sometimes we have to reach in deeper than the expertise of food or we have to reach in deeper than. A certain therapy let's say massage therapy can be so amazingly healing but there may be a condition that. Massage therapy is not going to cure you know hepatitis B. And so we have to keep looking deeper and deeper so what you were saying was that young and people have good nutrition and good foods and we have therapeutic foods and then we go to.
Let's say. Herbs that are more tonics they're just good all around and then we go to herbs that are therapeutic. But then we could go to herbs that are really pretty drastic that you don't necessarily want to mess with in the herbal form but this beautiful science of homeopathy has taken those herbs. Sublimated them in other words diluted and succused and made a remedy.
Now that has no. Molecules of that let's say toxic or toxic plant and now it becomes a healing energy as the body recognizes that energy. And in the history of homeopathy they they tackle not only all the dread diseases but the emotional states you know whether it's profound depression anxiety. Things like that fall into that energetic pattern so where we leave the molecular of food and herbs. We also then move into the emotional and mental spheres finding that somewhere in all of nature there's the balancing factor that we live in a niche on this planet where. Everything is matters everything works together and so in our natural health model we have all these beautiful tools even right on into the energetics where when you have to help correct something deep and that was the job that Dr. Shore had with me because the root cause of asthma was deeply emotional fear right oppression suppression and the things that happen to the human spirit with all the horrors of living life you know we just pop the news on and we go oh my goodness.
But it's the imprint of that trauma that often changes our lives you know never never been the same. Since something happened and that's the energetic world so we have all kinds of different tools. To reach in to help with the healing as you said Richard the body is capable of healing its ailments. And so we have our natural therapies for you might say each layer of causation. Oh anyway it's a beautiful model and absolutely our bodies are born with a deep innate desire to heal to live. And we sometimes say the body's core mission instinctive blind primal is adapt survive perpetuate the species. And then express the most optimal health possible. And we find because of the way the natural world is set up the true healers are in the natural world they're not patent medicines to pop on TV advertising. Yeah there's our model.
TalkToMeGuy: Yeah there's our model. Yeah somebody yelling talking as fast as they possibly can over the product that somebody's dancing with because it's the amazing new something I have to I cannot help myself. Something you said oh it was about the the I'll target HEP B only because that's what we were talking about. I just popped into my head as you were talking about it is so when that when a baby gets a HEP B shot. Is it in the way that our bodies is our very complicated system and there's everybody you know there's like I kind of think it is a wizard of Oz. There's somebody behind the curtain managing all this and I mean in our in our body. So I'm wondering that when that vaccine what of the vaccine be could be happy hits the system isn't the body kind of go well I almost use bad word what the heck is that because if the body gets an illness and then fights it off with its own immune system and perhaps some homeopathic assistance or whatever the choice is that's an actual process that the body does and checks off that box in its in its row of columns of things that checks off like OK we've handled that. But if it gets a shot with no just like all of a sudden this thing in the body is floating around in the body is going what the heck is that where do I put that. I'm making all that up but that's just in my mind how the body could react to something that's somewhat invasive without any flow to get there.
Is there does that make sense what I'm trying to observe. Oh did I lose you Jack. Oh Jack will be right back. So anyway that just that's my thought of until Jack gets back that I think it's it's not that it's synthetic it's just that it's suddenly in the body and the body's not part of making that resolution. So it's an alien something that's I think confusing to the body.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Hello Richard. I think you had to put your top hat and grab a chain and absolutely.
TalkToMeGuy: Oh no I'm like the Ed Sullivan plate spinner. I'm always ready. I've got plates spinning at all times. So did you hear enough of that. My idea. I'm not trying to pick a bone with anybody. I just did as you were saying it. I suddenly went well isn't that confusing to the body as a system. To suddenly have an injection of something that it did not be take part in creating because the body is really a system that's designed to be somewhat self contained. And so could it be that it would be slightly confused by that. We don't have to go. And to immature.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Yeah maybe to immature to handle it because the infant. Is the immune system is being derived from breast milk and the infant has the mother's sort of innate ideas about how to deal with the external world. So there it's been argued within science that.
And particularly out of Japan. The research there was crying out that it's way way way too early. And then the other thing that came out of a lot of the Japanese research was the multiple ailments that a normal natural life span you don't run into diphtheria cholera and chickenpox all in the same epidemic zone. And so the body is almost like has the opportunity more like watching a. You know a martial arts movie where it's 10 against one but the 10 all decide to approach the hero one at a time. And they don't all approach it once. And so the multiple onslaught seems to be even a bigger shock and perhaps less efficiency of developing the antibodies. But the antibody process. So we said earlier would mean that we're inflicting a disease pattern. Forcing the secondary immune system the acquired immune system without talking to the innate or the humoral immune system first.
So maybe that's a good place to look at a difference of opinion is the human body has you know basically you can categorize it as to immune system. Sometimes it's a little shallow to call it T.H. one and T.H. two.
But one is the first responder. And that's where things like the homeopathic medicines will work. They will say OK it's flu season. You can take the influenza in them remedy and have the first responder system have a heads up to be on the lookout for these strains of the you know the mutated flu virus that's going around the world. And so it's going to be a good place to look at the virus in that year. And but then if you put that same viral combination into a syringe. And add some worm intelligence or the the Cocker Spaniel that they use to incubate the virus. And perhaps adjuvants. I don't think they're using so many of the toxic aluminum and mercury and stuff in the the flu shot.
Recently. But you put all that together stick it in the muscle. And then the body goes like you're saying holy cow what.
What does come from. But you're driving the auto the antibodies. And so you're using the secondary immune system without going through the first so much. And so it's that's why I was starting out saying well yeah now you've you're a person who had about a hepatitis B you're only one month old now but you've already survived about a hepatitis B. So yep you've been blessed with antibodies and some immunity.
But then the cost is what you're saying Richard of like holy cow what's this. How did I get involved with this. And I think the reason why you could say well how did that little baby get involved with Hep C. Well mom was a drug user. And so that could be screened out. But instead they were giving Hep B to every baby. Which was just a major toxic onslaught.
But now I don't know if you read but now the CDC as of I believe yesterday twenty twenty five December twenty twenty five they are no longer mandating the abuse of that vaccine for the infant. Because it's one of those things like you know one guy at the airport security had explosives in his tennis shoes. So now we've had you know 10 billion honest people have to take their shoes off. And because of that and that was sort of the logic other than that and the beautiful cash cow. That mandated vaccines bring to Big Pharma. And the profits and the huge huge billionaires that have come out of out of that arena with their bonuses. Oh yeah let's give the the babies the Hep B and you know you can buy that new Ferrari.
But so that that's another big big issue when you get into monetization that much. But blessedly they've looked at the research now which was being hidden and being a lot of big Pharma subterfuge. They've actually pulled up the research and now they're saying you know we don't need to be doing that rude injection to the infants now. And they're certainly screen if mama is an IV drug user and you know has had be that's very easy to see during pregnancy and then you can take heroic efforts to ensure the the safety of the unborn child and then the child as it's brought into the world. So they're getting a much more sensible approach in that.
And that's a victory for the future of humanity to not whip that needle into the baby when he's born when all of his immunity should be coming from mama and mama's breast milk. Yeah.
TalkToMeGuy: All right we're going to step a different direction now because you and I could riff on this for quite some time happily. Rest of the day. I'm sure. Yeah exactly. You wrote several articles which I will put all on the show notes and I highly recommend everybody that you I will put again in the show notes and in the chat in a couple minutes. Jack now has a sub stack page with a lot of really great information and you can go to wellness whiz at sub stack and one of the articles appears there in the article. I think that appeared there but I think it was from your website. The winter preparation article you're presenting in fluozyme Zynum and thymolene is this year's winter preparedness duo.
Would you please help us understand what does each remedy bring to the table individually. All right. Jack's going to call back in. So I will wait for that but he has both on his website at wellness whiz dot com but also at the substack he's started putting out articles and I find substack to be a great platform for reading materials easily. And it will also read to you which is my favorite thing. And I believe that's where this winter preparation article was as soon as we get Jack back in.
I'll see if I can find the link and I'll put it in chat. But we're going to be looking at the winter preparation within fluenza Zynum and thymolene. Okay. Jack should be calling back momentarily. I see it happening. Let's all envision Jack just appearing back.
I don't know enough about well I know a lot about homeopathy but certainly not enough to anywhere near the level of what Jack can talk about it. I am a big fan.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: I was just apologizing. If it's my phone system, I apologize and do your listeners too that our technology is...
TalkToMeGuy: Right, wouldn't you think we could just be able to have solid phone calls would be... you would think we'd just be able to do that now. The question was regarding your winter preparation article and you're presenting in flusinum and thymilane as this year's winter preparedness duo. Would you please help us understand what does each remedy bring to the table individually and could someone use just in flusine or thymilane separately or really there is a synergy between them that's going to really help us with this winter flu or whatever that flu is coming up?
Oh, certainly. You know, it's really an interesting topic and the reason is, you know, as each year the Louis Pasteur Institute in France will collect and make the flu, let's say the flu starter solution. They'll get the strains.
The southern hemisphere gets a head start on the northern hemisphere and they'll identify those strains that these are the flus that are going to be bothering people and they'll usually take from three to four of these strains. And then I say they slice and dice them there at the Pasteur Institute and then they will sell the solution to the pharmaceutical companies when they and then they start to make the flu shot. The homeopathic pharmacies take that same solution now and they will dilute it according to homeopathic principles. So it's not just a dilution until there's nothing left. It's dilution and seclusion that there's a agitation of the solution of vibratory component and they take it step by step by step into greater dilutions until there is no viral fragment left. There's only the energy imprint and that goes out in the market as the year's influenza. And it started, let's say 200 years ago, homeopathy got very, very excited when they started finding that you could take these dilutions called attenuations and bring healing results. And so it opened up an area. So the first influenza 200 years ago literally was probably nasal discharge, otherwise known as snot from someone with the flu and then that was put through the homeopathic.
Dynamization dilution sequence. But then homeopath started learning that the remedy became a medicine in its own right and they might use it for chicken pox or started learning the characteristics and then over time. They evolved to where now they're all, they both big pharma and homeopathic pharmacy start with the Pasteur Institute stock solution. So we're medicines in ads, or they used to add toxic adjuvants like high levels of aluminum and mercury thimerosol and these things because they need to aggravate the acquired immune system within the human being to respond.
Otherwise you stick it in the arm and it sits there. So they have to have toxic adjuvants. They're called in homeopathy they skip all that and just made their attenuations and every year we get influenza in them. The thing I'd like to point out when I put the winterization article on substack is that I could not find. I could not find solid clinical trials and I think that's a weakness.
I'm sorry. But then I give the report there online of working with over 300 people and what the results were when we had a flu epidemic here in Austin, over 20 years ago with school shutdowns workers, works closing and what what the outcome was so I base a lot of the use of influenza in them which is called homeopropyl axis, a fancy word for that it it preparedness that it prepares the immune system for the to meet those strains of winter flu. And so let me just say people can certainly you know read the the well thought out article I'll just say right now the results have been phenomenal particularly when the flu shots sometimes have only been 17 or 30% effective. The homeopathic at least in the smaller world of where I did a study you might say with over 300 people and we were up in the high 90s.
It's just like day and night. So anyway you're asking about influenza and it is a dilution attenuation of the years flu. It's offered through homeopathic pharmacies it's offered through your homeopathic and nature apathic practitioners.
And it is nothing more than a vibrational rate in water in a liquid solution that gives an early warning of preparedness to your first responders hey beyond the lookout. These are nasty virus take care of it immediately. And the body is tooled up then when it meets that virus somebody sneezes and you touch the doorknob or whatever during the winter.
Your body goes ah ha I recognize that bingo took care of it. And it doesn't have to evolve into the antibodies. Some people do develop antibodies from taking the homeopathic and a person may develop antibodies after conquering initially the flu. So you encounter the flu your body takes care of it it's all done within a few hours.
And you may turn up later with antibodies and have your own natural immunity. You know for the rest of that season and then that dog on virus the the the virus that caused the influence influenza. They're going to mutate they seem to do this every year every season. They try to figure out a new way to come around again during the susceptibility of winter and bother humanity yet again which means every year the Pasteur Institute is grinding up in their manufacturing processes making the stock solution. So now let's say for the last 200 or so years homeopathy has offered people in flu and xionum made fresh every year. People start taking it about now. Some administer it as the little traditional pellets and they have their own sequences of doses others will administer it in liquid. And a person might take it once or twice a week throughout the season. And always be extra vigilant and prepared should they meet the flu. So and there's a beautiful history of this type of what's called again homeopropyl axis working brilliantly and it seems rather obviously far superior to anything else.
So we would have to say that anything else people do when you get the text from someone going to you had your flu shot or you go to the plumber and they ask if you had your flu shot and all of that kind of a campaigning to sell a product for big pharma that they're they're really pitching second best. You asked in the early days and of course with the Pasteur Institute you might imagine that it's in France and the French homeopaths created a remedy. Many many years ago called Oslo coxenum.
Of course they gave it a word that nobody could pronounce. But they then administered that as an immune boost. And so it's been very very very popular you may I'm hoping you've run into it at the health food store. I think the company dole so when it was active in the United States a French company it sold it as flu solution. And then French homeopathic company in the United States markets it as Oslo coxenum which is a big long word that starts with an O so you'll you'll see it and then you buy a little pellets and it's just a general immune boost and so people use that if they have not only a cold a sniffle a flu a sore throat anything people gravitate toward that remedy by the millions because it helps the body recover so in France they set up take influenza in them and alternate it with Oslo coxenum. As things evolved further the homeopaths made a remedy from the thymus gland. And it's called Phymoline. So it's not really a what they have different categories it's not a no so and different words like that for the remedies it's derived from the gland and it seems to actually perform certainly as well or better than Oslo coxenum.
So there are two purposes influence in them. Alerts the body to be prepared to meet the flu strains. Meanwhile, Phymoline would instruct the body's immune system say hey beef it up be vigilant but also be modulated to be ready to respond but not too much. You know this is where we heard all about cytokine storms that some people were epigenetically tooled up to overreact to these the new virus. And we want to modulate it immune attack so that it takes care of it perfectly because most people if they encounter the flu.
They say oh my goodness my family got sneezed on you know our relatives and everybody's coming down with the flu but we're not because we took influenza in them. You can also be extra prepared. With Phymoline giving general immune thymus boosting support so these are just like little invisible bubbles that you can put little force fields around your body as you go through go through the world. And so I favor personally the Phymoline and so that's what I will basically inform people about as a duo in tandem to be building your immunity. Why because you're going to run into other things than the three it's three strains this year last year it was four of influenza in them. And you know there's always they say oh you caught an a new strain that the vaccine didn't cover or you caught you know a different kind of virus. And so the Phymoline builds no matter what the virus or the bacteria or the fungus or anything else that could be you know the mold. It builds the immune system to perform better. So one is a general immune build the others very specific to what you're likely to encounter. So that becomes what I call a winterization program it's two remedies.
I favor the liquids and people just grab the bottle and alternate throughout the season and stay smiling and healthy and stay out of trouble so I hope that trouble covers it. Let me know Richard if there's a facet you want to pursue.
TalkToMeGuy: Well I have a question about well I'll ask about allergies. I have a friend who has bad allergies or you know just seasonal allergies. And I'm wondering could they be taking just Phymoline to help bump up their immune system.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: And because we're looking at immune modulation the allergy is a reaction to something that is hyper right it went too far. Mass cells broke histamine did destruction to cells and the nose is running like a water faucet where the throat scratchy the palate is itchy and the eyes are burning and all of that. So yes Phymoline because it's an immune modulator not just a booster because that person already has an over boosted immune system with the allergies and I'll simply point maybe back out of our homeopathic discussion and get back into our maybe the nutritional world is that the allergy issue is an issue of the gut microbiome. And that's where allergies can be turned aside or people say they outgrew it you know people will say oh I used to be allergic to chocolate but now I can eat it and that type of thing. I'm not necessarily talking about a person that has anaphylactic shock from a peanut or a lobster. That's a deeper and separate immunological overreaction but I'm talking first at first blush here food sensitivities they're founded in the gut you can just think back oh I used to eat. Wheat and eat gluten and I didn't have any problem but now I'm highly sensitive and I can't eat it.
Well that's just a message that there's something wrong in the gut microbiome which has a massive influence over the epigenetic responses that that person is using to go through life and defend against the external world.
TalkToMeGuy: So if you had if you were going to let. I have too many questions in my head at once. And so if you were tended to be a stress type of person, meaning you always felt tightly wound and stressed out. Could the idea of taking thymoline because if you're stressed all the time you're going to have a suppressed or irritated immune system in my view. Right.
And so with the thymoline sort of possibly be a back door assistive to the immune system for somebody who seems chronically stressed. I know they need to deal with this.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Yeah you're here spot on with your spot on with your thinking absolutely yes. Indeed, and gosh if that person were working the gut microbiome and using something like thymoline, then they would be moving toward a much more balanced. Immune vigilance, you know serving them much better and not having the seasonal allergies or food sensitivities, and they'd kind of be backing out and then somebody might say yeah I used to have trouble but I outgrew it.
Now I'm not bothered. So, yeah, we were talking earlier on these kind of different layers of the thymoline works with immune modulation the influence item for the the flu there's another layer that people might be very comfortable going on you know now they're talking to my language is what we do nutritionally to prepare for the flu and I think everyone could nod their head yeah I've heard that vitamin D three. Is essential for you know getting through the winter so is zinc.
We want to boost our vitamin C. And so there's a few nutrients like that that we can all benefit from. And we might think back in the older days. I fondly remember a Norman Rockwell painting. Where I believe it's the little boy and grannies pinching his nose and shoving a big tablespoon full of cod liver oil that the kids had to get that yucky, you know slimy fishy cod liver oil but the cod liver oil was giving of course first and foremost vitamin a the antiviral vitamin for a human being. So, in the clinic I winterize people with the cod liver oil capsules blessedly that the prior generations didn't have they'll seal it up in a capsule and you don't have to taste it or have that oil go down your throat. And I'll have people take the genuine raw cod liver oil and like Western a price foundation is very. So the research loves the firm in it cod liver oil capsules and things like that but we'll get that vitamin a boost and then also in that cod liver oil is the vitamin D three, which also supplements it's much less than a but you get these two immune. Essential nutrients boosted so back in the old days I'm sure millions of lives were saved by the old winterization process of that.
I believe the recipe actually was two tablespoons of cod liver oil. Because in the earlier days, the influenza coming around would take out people nearly from every community so every community, you know, the mayor died or somebody's child died because of flu so we just wanted to have some compassion or empathy for when modern medicine gets on the high horse. And start screaming how irresponsible you are not to go and, you know, meet up with the poison needle. It's like yeah I can understand you know you're well founded in your history people died from influenza and in the traditionally it takes out a larger segment of elderly people. But if you don't want to have that susceptibility. There's perfectly brilliant natural health solutions that don't have the concomitant side effect of yes people do die from flu vaccines and they do suffer long term damage. And it's all the science is there it's not like I'm preaching some radical conspiracy theory that everything I hope that we can show that everything that I say, I can send you a study I can I know there's it's backed up by science.
So, we have these now three layers like where we started Richard. There's a food solution. It would be getting the vitamin a and the vitamin D three or supplemental you would take cod liver oil and or supplemental vitamin D three. And that all do you good we want to be sure you've got zinc because zinc has been milled out of the American food supply it's not in the soil. It's, it's milled out with the processing and so everyone practically I would say needs to top off a little zinc and a good form could be liquid zinc sulfate, or if you prefer, you know, like
TalkToMeGuy: Jack will be back with us momentarily. Yeah, I'm old enough that I will not just because I'm old for years I would have cod liver oil flavored didn't help flavored cod liver oil in a bottle in my fridge, and I just take a glove every day. And it's still it was never it never got easier.
But I just did it. And it seemed to you know I have the immune system of an ox. But I'm a supplement fan that you know eat good food, eat good clean food. But I think, as Jack said, you know the soils are so depleted that it's really hard for us to, you know, get all of our nutrients out of our food. I think you can do it if you I shop a lot at farmers markets, because the food is so vital and so fresh. And I'd like to meet the people that are growing my food. And sometimes you get amazing produce that last year I got these amazing there's a particular kind of strawberry fruit it's called old world strawberry tiny, but the amount of flavor that little strawberry was just mind blowing. It was just vital and just unbelievably delicious. Good. Welcome back Jack. You're back now.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Dog gone. You know the thing was I was on such a roll. Sorry. A big windbag I have no idea when we got severed but I just finished giving the entire meaning of life and the winning lottery numbers.
TalkToMeGuy: I know.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Well, we're having we are having here in Austin, some technical issues and I'm afraid it lands on my shoulders so I must plead forgiveness and hope that someday we get to visit again. Super technology.
TalkToMeGuy: Yes, well the technology is just you know, I'm I'm quite frankly amazed that it works most shows, because I'm talking to people all over the country. And especially during the winter months, it really gets tricky, because things just go down.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Do you mean by. Yeah, I'm being pressured by a to get rid of the landline and. Yeah, and they don't want to serve it anymore and then there'll be static and so anyway life moves on life moves on.
TalkToMeGuy: Do you have time to talk to us about the genus epidemic is for a few minutes. Still, certainly.
Jack Tips, ND, PhD.: Yeah, that's a fancy Latin phrase. And these again being a homeopath and a clinical nutritionist and an herbalist. In my life it's something that I've been immersed in the genus epidemic because you can hear the word epidemic in there. And what happens is that, like right now. We've already had influence in the southern hemisphere so homeopaths and they're talking to homeopaths in Australia and New Zealand and over in Singapore and so forth and they're all saying you know the flu does certain things this year. It's making people extremely restless and anxious. That's a bummer.
TalkToMeGuy: All right, I'll go back to. He'll be back in a minute. And then we may have to wrap it up. I'll see if we can do a part two of the show. Because it would like to have him get into the genus epidemic is. Because that's the one specifically with, you know, applying various forms of flu's including COVID, the latest derivations of COVID. Giving the body a little heads up is how I would put it. All right, let's see if this comes together.
Anybody have questions in chat while we're waiting. Although he'll be back momentarily, I hope. Once the storms happen. If AT &T would just put all its phone lines underground.
What a radical idea. Jack may have lost his connection. Well, if we have to stop here. We will and I'll get back for part two. And what I will do is I will put all of Jack's connections and I really do suggest going to his wellness with dot substack.com. I put it in the chat, but also I'll put it in the show notes because he's beginning to produce more articles there.
And as I said, I really like substack because it's an easy format. And also at his website, wellness with dot com, he has articles, a bunch of articles. He's quite a prolific writer. And I have a feeling that may be it.
Music
TalkToMeGuy: Greetings everyone, this is a Sound Health Radio Show where we talk about the crossroads of the environment, our health and longevity with Richard TalkToMeGuy and Sherry Edwards is off working on the Sound Health Portal. I would suggest going to the SoundHealthPortal.com, scrolling down just a bit and clicking on the Watch How button. You'll see a short demo video explaining how to record and submit your first recording. Then go back to SoundHealthPortal.com, scroll down to current active campaigns such as cellular inflammation, stem cells or Parkinson's and choose one that is of interest to you. Click on that campaign and click Free Voice Analysis and the system will walk you through submitting your recording. You'll receive an email with your report back usually in one to two hours.
I suggest sitting down with a cup of tea and reviewing that and seeing information that you can take out of it. To hear and share replays of this show, 30 to 40 minutes after you hear the outro music, go to TalkToMeGuy.com, scroll down that page and you'll see this show at the top of the episodes page. There are also hundreds of shows available there as well. There's a microphone icon at the bottom right corner of all the show notes.

TalkToMeGuy: Thank's everybody.
